Our practice

The four elements

We use the four basic elements in our practice, changing weekly.

  • Sue sitting cross-legged on a bolster, hands together at her chest

    Earth

A specific focus on the feet, legs, pelvic alignment and the glutes.

  • Sue in triangle pose, one arm reaching up towards the ceiling

    Fire

Working the core through compression, decompression and twists. A strong core helps to support the spine.

  • Hands pressing into a cream yoga mat beside a marbled block

    Air

Concentrating on the upper body (shoulders, arms, wrists and hands) with backbends and arm balances.

  • Sue in downward-facing dog on a mat in the studio

    Water

Relating to the hips, pelvis, lumbar spine, reproductive organs and everything fluid in the body.
